After migrating to the United States from Jamaica at an early age, N4SA lived in Chicago, Illinois where constant exposure coupled with musicianship in the bloodline sparked his natural interest in music. He put his interest into practice, producing, writing lyrics and deejaying as a young initiate in the late 1980s. He began to pursue music as a career in 1993, when he ventured west to California and met fellow Jamaicans and musicians Mahad Mahan and Unda Privileged. It was here that N4SA began to take ownership of his talent and rather than chasing record labels and shady deals, the crew created an independent label called Jamaica Natural in 1999. Since then they have collaborated on several projects, including solo and group albums, and compilations featuring well-known and underrepresented artists from the Bay Area, the States and Jamaica. N4SA’s lyrics emphasize his relentless faith in God, a profound connection to his heritage as a Jamaican, an African, and a Black man. His music is an amalgam of dancehall, roots and industrial, inspired by a variety of world music styles that range from simple to chaotic. N4SA’s future projects include a solo album, though he gets the most pleasure out of his compilations that mix and give light to so many different personalities. .
