Mahad ArtiCarlton T also knows
that ancient ties, which stem deeper than the subconscious, destine some of us. He knows that each one of us is a different expression of “God.” Dwelling in the material, we are here on earth reinventing ourselves; asking the question, and this question is what drives us. Conquering flesh (material), the soul is then able to transcend space and time, returning itself to its “source.” Knowledge is the key to understanding and a lack of knowledge of who and what we are will then thrust ourselves into a repetitive cycle in which, we are doomed to repeat our lives until knowledge of self occurs. But how does this translate to music? Accordingly, music or sound is the universal key that go beyond all barriers, borders, cultures or religions, making it surpass time and space itself. Therefore, music is life and life is music. It all began with the sound. In this current knowledge cycle, music is the tool to disseminate information to the masses, the Neters and the sheep. Music is part of the great awakening, the getting out from sleep. “I am here to remind you are asleep unto yourself and it’s time to rise up. This is the original wake up kaw we ah sleep too late.” Mahad ArtiCarlton T does not believe in “nuff ah di ediot dem whey out dey,” when speaking of other musical artists. He feels differently and only will associate with few who are along the same line as he. Not to dispute their musical skill, he feels that “we are beyond skill and it’s time to step up to the next level.”
Finally a Mahad Mahan, dem want him, sey dem ah haunt him, kaw dem tiad ah di same system, Hear mi sing while di pain get bring. Finally a Mahad mahan when him is chanting, him is haunting, kaw deejay dem now a days dem naw sey nuting, and a get di ratings.

Mahad Mahan ArtiCarlton T feels that there is a bigger picture than we are seeing and one must step out of oneself in order to see the whole.“ You can’t see your self unless you leave your self. One needs some kind of glass to see them self, and unfortunately we can’t seem to find that looking glass. That’ s the position we are in.” They definitely approaches music differently than most. While many people seem to be in music for the fame and wealth, Mahad Mahan ArtiCarlton T sees it as a tool. It is the cry of the nation the voice of the many, the cry of the down-pressed. When speaking on music he believes that it is the one sure means of communication between the down-pressed all over the world. In this technologically driven society, world wide the down-pressed are people of color (the darkest of color.)
But to our aid we have this means of communication which is music and although it’s distribution seem to be controlled by the privilege, the voice of the artist is the under privileged. Artists must realize they are the ones who should be in control of their music. Because many artists only use music as revenue they are confined and are enslaved to the demands of money and the music industry, which is another aspect of the corporate machine. They then proceed to walk the road of “unsubstantiated music” which seems to influence the greater populace in a less than stimulating manner. Meaning, the people are not stimulated to look at their lifestyle, life chance or their environment. They will not question what they perceive to be true, they only embrace the norm and because of fear and ignorance, they perpetuate the cycle passing it on to their children.
There is control of every aspect of our lives and the system is maintained because of certain checks and balances. Many people do not even know that they are maintaining that system by not questioning it. Mahad says “ghetto music” is beyond what it use to be, it’s a reason why it is called “rebel music.” He says he is here to put the rebelling back in “rebel music,” It’s now the dawning of the new age, the wake up call must be sent over and over again. Mahad Mahan ArtiCarlton T is one of those wake up shouts. Mahad says, “I am just one of the starter or the catalyst of this new movement or rather, this old statement.”
